Blissdom Canada 2011: The Experience

Blissdom Canada was simply amazing.

What the four amazing women– Barbara Jones, Paula Bruno, Alli Worthington, Catherine Connors (and the team behind them) set out to do, they accomplished tenfold.

The sessions were informative, some of them I took away many, many useful things. My favorite panel was ‘A Little Sprinkle of Viral Dust’ and ‘She Works Hard for the Money (And So Do You)’.

I had the opportunity to meet even more amazing women and to see some of those I had already met. I was most happy meeting my good friends Kat and Patty for the first time, it was like seeing old friends. And so many other awesome and wonderful ladies I talk to everyday or tons on Twitter.

Like Kate (@_littlemisskate) pictured below and Aeryn (@HabitueTO). I’d be here all day listing the awesome women I was lucky enough to be surrounded by for 3 days!

The whole weekend with my roomies Kat, Patty and Deanna were great, they were filled with so many late night giggles, inside jokes and long convos. Oh and much against my will, lots of yummy treats! I am so happy to have roomed with these ladies and can’t wait to do it again next year!

I got to hear some of the entrepreuneurs and Journalists that I admired and respected speak and express their thoughts and advice. Especially those willing to divulge their expertise and ways that they were able to make their business or sites a success.

I met Steven and Chris, Mama Yamma and Jordan Knight to name a few I was over the moon with!

The brands were amazing of course and Kraft and Fisher Price were awesome. Phillips had amazing lattes, manicures and massages. Mapleleaf is always phenomenal. I can go on and on about all the sponsors that really did spoil us all, with many of their products and giveaways that were amazing. I also got to meet Jennifer from UsedEverywhere.com who I had been chatting with before the conference and so many other wonderful people.

I also was lucky to have been invited to UsedEverywhere.com’s dinner at the trendy restaurant Table 17 and be surrounded by like-minded ladies and the awesome women behind UsedEverywhere.com, Jennifer and Tish to name a few. I also had my go at making a video with Atomic Spark Productions and a fashion consultation with Better Styled and a consultation with Impressions PR.

To sum it all up, I compiled a video to show you the awesomeness that was Blissdom Canada 2011.

The things that I took away from this experience was to follow your dreams, work at what you want to accomplish and go for it. At Blissdom, I had the opportunity to meet so many people who followed this advice and have made their own successes with hard work. Nothing good ever comes easy. I was also exposed to so many people who are passionate at what they do and whenever you are passionate about something there is only one way to go from there.

Up.

I hope that all that went to this conference took what they needed from everything we were exposed to and whatever you didn’t agree with, you left behind.

Any experience is what you make of it.

One of the coolest things I did was share the stage with Patty and sing Madonna’s famous hit, “Like a Prayer” and it sure made everyone move! Even though I tend to not post these kinda things, here it goes!

I want to thank Elephoto for making it possible for me to attend this year and for Ddrops for giving me that push I needed to be introduced to the world of conferences and for seeing the value that us moms have. There is still so much to divulge to you guys from this experience so, stay tuned for more posts along the way!

Til then, cheers m’deres!
